The world sees only what I permit
A light that shines brightly
Not the shadowed part of me the storm has unveiled

No one else would know that I am broken
Because I am too good at faking it
You could feel the sun on your skin
Even as the rain kept pouring

When shades of grey dominate the day
Bringing heaviness to the atmosphere
You could taste the warmth in my words
While for me, they burn cold

Right before I am about to fall
My smile remains flawlessly painted
The light in my eyes still seems alive
Despite the agony raging inside

I once believed time would heal
But all it did was make the pain familiar

Thank you for reading!
